Setting up notifications

Tiimo notifications help you keep track of your day, stay on top of what matters, and reduce the effort it takes to get started. You can choose what kinds of reminders you want and you can change your mind any time.

On iPhone or iPad

Turn on notifications

  1. Open the Tiimo app
  2. Go to the Me tab
  3. Tap the Settings icon (top right)
  4. Tap Notifications
  5. Toggle ON the reminders you want, like morning check-ins or motivational nudges
  6. For Time of day reminders, you can set the time for each notification

Change your notification sound

  1. Open the Tiimo app
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Tap Notifications
  4. Tap Notification sound
  5. Pick a tone that stands out to you

Control sounds in system settings

  1. Go to Settings app on your device
  2. Go to Apps
  3. Select Tiimo
  4. Go to Notifications
  5. Allow notifications: Toggle ON
  6. To turn sounds ON: toggle Sounds ON and check that your phone isn’t on silent
  7. To turn sounds OFF: toggle Sounds OFF

On Web

Notifications are now also available on Web Planner. Follow the 3 steps below to set it up.

Step 1. Enable Notifications on your computer

On MacOS:

  1. Open System Settings app on your MacOS
  2. Go to Notifications
  3. Scroll down to Application Notifications and select your browser (e.g., Chrome, Safari)
  4. Toggle Allow Notifications ON
  5. Select Banners or Alerts
  6. Adjust the rest of the settings to your liking

On Windows:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Navigate to System
  3. Click Notifications
  4. Toggle ON notifications for your specific browser

Step 2. Enable Notifications in your browser

Google Chrome:

Option A:
  1. Open Google Chrome
  2. Log in to the web planner
  3. On the left side of the URL, in the URL bar, click on the icon (View site information)
  4. Toggle Notifications ON
Option B:
  1. Open Google Chrome and go to Settings
  2. Go to Privacy and security
  3. Select Site Settings
  4. Scroll down to Permissions and select Notifications.
  5. Make sure Sites can ask to send notifications is toggled ON
  6. Scroll down to Customized behaviors, and find Allowed to send notifications. Click Add
  7. Paste https://webapp.tiimoapp.com/ and click Add

Safari:

  1. Open Safari and go to Settings
  2. Go to the Websites tab
  3. Click Notifications in the left-hand menu
  4. Make sure Allow websites to ask for permission to send notifications is toggled ON

Step 3. Adjust Notifications on Web Planner

  1. Log in to the web planner
  2. Go to the Notifications settings
  3. Adjust the settings to your preference

How “Review today” works

Tiimo gives iOS users a once-a-day check-in to reflect and reset.

  • Appears daily at the time you set
  • Stays visible until you complete it
  • Resets every day, past check-ins aren’t accessible

Set a notification to Review today:

  1. Go to the Me tab
  2. Tap SettingsNotificationsReview today notifications
  3. Toggle ON, and set the time

If you miss the notification - don't worry! You can always access it from the Today tab: 

  1. Tap three dots in the upper right corner
  2. Tap Reschedule tasks
  3. Select which tasks you would like to reschedule
  4. Move them to the selected day
  5. Finish up by logging your Mood

Review your week

Review your week reminder helps you reflect on the tasks you've completed this week, and helps you prepare for the week ahead.

Set a notification to Review your week:

  1. Toggle Review your week ON
  2. The notification will be scheduled for Sunday. You can set the time to your preference

How to get the most out of notifications

  • Keep Motivational reminders on for light encouragement
  • Pick sounds that stand out but won’t overwhelm you
  • Start small, if you get notification fatigue, just use one or two that truly help
  • Switch it up if reminders start feeling invisible, it’s okay to pause or reset them
