For most students, the start of a new school year can feel both exciting and overwhelming. New classes, teachers, and after-school activities mean a whole new schedule to adapt to, which can be especially difficult for those of us who struggle with shifting plans and routines. But fear not, Tiimo’s here to help! Here are five ways Tiimo’s neuroinclusive planning tools can help you feel prepared and confident as you head into the new school year

1. Add existing calendars to Tiimo for seamless planning

Do you struggle keeping up with your personal, school, and extracurricular calendars? Have you missed one (maybe two) dance rehearsals or robotics club meetings because you double-booked yourself? Tiimo’s import calendar feature is great for folks who want an overview of their to-do’s in one place. To seamlessly import your calendars, go to the ‘Me’ tab and press ‘Calendar import.’

2. Our visual timer combats time agnosia and helps you take care of your needs while studying

If you’re someone who gets sucked into your school work and has a tendency to forget the world around you, a visual timer may be the answer! Visual timers make it easier to relate to the concept of time and can help you pace yourself and take care of your needs (e.g., drinking water) while you’re getting your tasks done. Just prop your visual timer up next to your laptop or your books and try out one of our pre-existing focus routines (e.g., the Pomodoro technique)!

3. Break down overwhelming tasks using AI

Unsure how to get started on that history project you’ve got due? Need some help planning your exam study session? Use our AI task breakdown to help break overwhelming tasks down into more manageable chunks. To try out AI, press the ‘Add with AI’ button when creating a new activity!

4. Create the perfect planning environment for you

Let’s be honest - for a lot of us, the thing we love about new planners is the opportunity to personalize them. However, once the initial buzz wears off, keeping up with your planner can feel more like a chore than a joy. Tiimo offers hundreds of ways to customize your planner to suit your likes and needs, including endless notification options and over 3,000 icons. Plus, as long as you have your phone (or tablet or watch), you always have your daily planner with you!

5. Set yourself up for success for making time for rest and self-care

When you’re balancing school, extracurriculars, and life, it can be challenging to find time to take care of yourself. We’re passionate about making planning work for you and encouraging you to make time for breaks and self-care routines throughout your day. Unsure what self-care you want to do? Check out our library of activities and routines for inspiration!

How to Stop Procrastinating and Get More Done

Why does focusing feel so hard sometimes? You sit down to work. Five minutes later, you're reorganizing your sock drawer. Or scrolling aimlessly. Or deep in a rabbit hole about Victorian plumbing (again). Sound familiar? You’re not lazy. You’re not broken. You might just need a different kind of support. This article shares two practical strategies to improve focus, reduce procrastination, and help you actually finish what you start.
